I'm feeling a bit lost, and more than a little frustrated to be honest.
One big baahumbug.
The student that I targeted...well let's just say that it is not working out as I had planned. He is now on a part time program and attending every other day. Sort of. Classes have been dropped here and there to the point that he is enrolled in linear Eng 10 and SS 10. He is supposed to be doing self paced Math 9 with me, but that has as much chance of happening as me turning into a Victoria Secret model. Okay, maybe that was inappropriate but self deprecating humour is how I cope. That and eating...thus you see where I was going with my analogy. Anyhoo...
He has gotten a job at the new Superstore and is working almost 40 hours and week. I have been in to see him a number of times and the difference in his demeanour there compared to at school is incredible. So then it makes me wonder if my plan really was the best plan? Is there a time when not attending school is actually better? Now what the heck am I supposed to do for this kid?
